The Project

After living for 20 years in Grenoble (France), I studied civil engineering in Montreal. I then worked for 2 years in the industry and decided to realize my dream of travelling the world for more than a year.

I will take you on a tour across the globe to discover agroecology, its actors, users and inventors. The main goal will be to document the different aspects of the science in a time of need of change.

My ecological sensibility opened my eyes on many subjects but mostly on our "modern" food system. I decided to conduct a project to sensibilize and share discoveries about agroecology, which, for me, is part of a permaculturian vision. It presents itself like a sustainable alternative to the many current challenges the world is facing and will face in the near future.

Face to an agronomic model failing to address ecological, sanitary and social issues, the world needs alternatives. We are an increasing number realizing the agrofood system is not sustainable in the long run. Agroecology as a social, political and  production movement appeared in the 80's in South America with Miguel Altieri and in France with Pierre Rabhi to only mention the most famous. This exploding science uses as much ancestral techniques as new discoveries in the ecological sphere and re-think our way of living.

The models, practices and systems of this domain are in continuous evolution and innvoation depending on climats, communities, culture, regional laws and available ressources. There are as many ways of using agroecology as there are different countries, climats and communities. Travelling the world will allow to discover how people across the globe use and live agroecology.

Agroecology main focuses are but not limited to :

  • Sustain a sufficient food production for all Humanit,

  • Divest and avoid chemicals

  • Offer sustainable alternatives to small and big food productors,

  • Establish close links between politics-productors-distributors-consummers,

  • Put back Nature and the Human at the center of priorities...

Challenges are huge!

It will include : visits of traditionnal and modern farms, productors communities, locals eco-markets, responsible consumers, productors and politics interviews...
